Concerts at Melbourne Park
From GRAMMY Award winners to stars of the future, Melbourne Park has a stage for everyone this August.
Bridging July and August, the immensely popular Laufey performs 3 consecutive shows at Rod Laver Arena from 30 July to 1 August. The dual GRAMMY Award winner blends jazz, classical and modern pop into a romantic, timeless sound that resonates with a new generation of audiences. The Icelandic-Chinese singer returns after a sold-out Australian run in 2024, making this a must-see performance as her global acclaim continues to grow.
Up next, Bristol trip-hop pioneers Massive Attack make their long-awaited return to Melbourne on Tuesday 11 August, performing at Rod Laver Arena following more than 15 years away. The influential British group, comprised of Robert “3D” Del Naja and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall, return to Australia for the first time since, following the release of new music – their first in 6 years. This is set to be one of the hottest tickets in town!
Shifting gears, two celebrations of creativity by young people and students across Victoria will be staged at Melbourne Park this month. The first, the Youth Alive Victoria Main Event, set for Margaret Court Arena on Saturday 15 August, will see thousands of young people gather for a high-energy and faith-filled event.
Following suit, the annual Victorian State Schools Spectacular returns to John Cain Arena with two shows on Saturday 29 August. An iconic Victorian event on the calendar for more than 30 years, this year’s theme – This is Me – promises an epic, breathtaking showcase of song, dance and exhilarating circus acts, featuring stunning visuals, bold costumes and a live 80-piece orchestra.
Closing out the month of music at Melbourne Park is Punjabi-Canadian superstar Karan Aujla, who brings his P-Pop Culture World Tour to Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 August. Aujla returns to Melbourne for the second time in under 2 years, a testament to his growing status in Punjabi music and his breakthrough success in the Australian market. P-Pop Culture celebrates Aujla’s roots while pushing Punjabi music into exciting new territory, with heartfelt melodies, sharp lyricism and genre-defying production all in store for fans.
Comedy at Melbourne Park
Get ready for an unforgettable evening of laughter and excitement as Iranian-American stand-up comedian Max Amini returns to Melbourne for three massive shows on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 August. He is currently the most-watched comedian on Instagram and recently made history as the first Iranian-American artist to headline Madison Square Garden and sell out the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Now, he brings his stand-up comedy to Margaret Court Arena and promises to unite audiences through what he describes as a “United Nations of Comedy.”
Family events at Melbourne Park
Family-friendly events continue to roll through Melbourne Park, with something in store for fans of all ages.
The adrenaline-fueled Freestyle Kings Live returns to Rod Laver Arena on Saturday 8 August. Dubbed “the greatest show on two wheels”, watch the world’s best freestyle riders, legendary rider Robbie Maddison, alongside his sons Kruz and Jagger, FMX world champion Clinton Moore, Pat Bowden, and X Games gold medalist Robbie Adelberg. With explosive pyrotechnics, music and fire artists, the 2-hour spectacular promises non-stop action and an unbeatable atmosphere.
For the little ones, PAW Patrol is on a roll and headed to Margaret Court Arena for multiple performances on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August. Based on the hit animated TV series on Nick Jr., PAW Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue” brings everybody’s favourite pups to the stage for an action-packed, high-energy, musical adventure.
Sporting events at Melbourne Park
From fan favourites to unique sporting spectacles, Melbourne Park hosts a range of sporting events this August.
A sport like no other, the PBR Australian Monster Energy Tour arrives on John Cain Arena on Saturday 15 August. Professional bull riding at its finest, the tour brings the fiercest riders and toughest bulls in the nation together for one night of adrenaline-fueled, edge-of-your-seat action. Buckle up for the toughest 8 seconds in sport!
Closer to home, Melbourne Storm take on the ladder-leading Penrith Panthers on Thursday 20 August at AAMI Park in what is their final home game of the regular season.
