For music lovers

The stars align at Melbourne Park in October, with a diverse mix of local and international artists set to perform across the month.

Kicking off the month, iconic Taiwanese rock duo Power Station will perform all the hits from their massive catalogue in a high-energy live show at Margaret Court Arena on Friday 3 October. As one of the most enduring acts in Asia, Yu Chiu-hsin and Yen Chih-lin live are not to be missed.

Shifting gears, British modern metal band Bullet For My Valentine is set to perform at John Cain Arena on Wednesday 15 October as part of its largest-ever headline tour in Australia. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album The Poison, the band will be joined by special guests While She Sleeps and The Devil Wears Prada for what promises to be an unforgettable line-up of live music.

Closer to home, Australian indie rock duo Royel Otis will celebrate their sophomore album on tour at Margaret Court Arena on Friday 17 October, adding to a huge line-up of concerts in Melbourne. One of Australia’s hottest live acts, Royel Otis will perform hits from their new album hickey, the ARIA Award-winning Pratts & Pain, and of course, their viral cover of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “Murder On The Dancefloor.”

Fresh off his NRL Grand Final headline performance, GRAMMY-nominated artist Teddy Swims returns to perform in the largest arenas he’s ever played in Down Under. The “Lose Control” singer will deliver three massive shows at Rod Laver Arena from Wednesday 22 to Friday 24 October. One of modern music’s most revered voices, Teddy Swims’ raw vocal talent is an unmissable experience.

Returning to Melbourne following his visit in 2023, Konstantinos Argiros is back for more this October. The Greek sensation will perform across two nights at Margaret Court Arena on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October. For fans of Greek contemporary music, be quick, as these shows are selling fast!

Another artist returning after a recent visit, British singer-songwriter James Blunt, will again grace Rod Laver Arena on Sunday 26 October. Following his sold-out national tour in 2024, Blunt is bringing his Back to Bedlam tour to Melbourne, packed with all his greatest hits and fan favourites.

Rounding out a bumper month of concerts in Melbourne, Jelly Roll brings his Down Under tour to Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 October. The 2023 CMA New Artist of the Year has enjoyed a meteoric rise with his chart-topping album Beautifully Broken and standout tracks “Liar” and “I Am Not Okay.” With special guests Shaboozey and Drew Baldridge, this promises to be an unforgettable night.

From basketball and darts to international netball and the return of the A-League football season, Melbourne Park is set for a huge month of sporting events this October.

A first in Australia, the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans arrive at Rod Laver Arena for a series of games and fan events from Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 October. The NBA x NBL Melbourne Series will be headlined by the Pelicans taking on Melbourne United on Friday night and South East Melbourne Phoenix on Sunday afternoon, while basketball fans will also be able to soak up the experience with Open Training on Thursday and Fan Night on Saturday.

Following the Pelicans’ visit, both United and Phoenix will return to John Cain Arena for more Melbourne Park events during the regular NBL season. Whether you’re a first-timer or basketball devotee, there’s no shortage of opportunities to check out the NBL, as United host the Cairns Taipans on Sunday 12 October, NZ Breakers on Sunday 19 October, and Bryce Cotton’s Adelaide 36ers on Sunday 26 October, while Phoenix take on the Illawarra Hawks on Saturday 18 October and Sydney Kings on Thursday 23 October.

Rounding out the basketball action in October, WNBL26 is set for an electrifying tip-off, with John Cain Arena to host the Southside Flyers vs UC Capitals season opener on Saturday 18 October. The league will burst onto the scene in one of Melbourne’s premier basketball arenas with fresh energy and an enhanced game-day experience, featuring some of Australia’s greatest basketball talent, including legendary Opals star Cayla George (Flyers) and the highly anticipated return of superstar Jade Melbourne (Capitals) following a standout season in the WNBA.

Continuing the theme of variety, the Dabble Darts ANZ Premier League will launch at John Cain Arena on Saturday 4 October. Mirroring the European Premier League, the series will span eight arenas across Australia and New Zealand, and Melbourne is lucky enough to kick things off. Don’t miss Australia’s most successful darts star, Simon “The Wizard” Whitlock, as he chases a return to the World Championship.

October will again see the return of the annual Constellation Cup, with the Australian Diamonds taking on the New Zealand Silver Ferns in the opening match of the series, which is the pinnacle of international netball. With the Diamonds and Silver Ferns sharing a rich history of unforgettable matches, be sure to secure your spot at John Cain Arena on Friday 17 October, as limited tickets remain.

Football is also back at Melbourne Park! After facing off in last season’s Grand Final, both Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City FC return to AAMI Park with early-season home games, with Victory taking on Auckland FC on opening weekend, Saturday 18 October, and City returning home a week later against Perth Glory on Saturday 25 October.
