UK indie rock royalty Bloc Party is reuniting with fans Down Under this August, joined by special guests Young The Giant.

Celebrating 20 years as a band and the anniversary of their critically acclaimed debut album Silent Alarm, Bloc Party will bring their electrifying performance to Melbourne on Sunday, 3 August, joined by US rockers Young The Giant, returning to Australia for the first time in 14 years.

Bloc Party

Bloc Party is a British indie rock band formed in London in 1999, known for their electrifying blend of post-punk revival, indie rock, and electronic influences. High Tea at Disney On Ice

Start the magic early with family-friendly dining inside Rod Laver Arena – the perfect way to make the most of your day and refuel before or after the show.

Railyards is transforming into a whimsical High Tea experience, created especially for Disney On Ice fans. Kids will love the fairy floss, sweet treats, savoury bites and classic sandwiches. Adults can indulge in a chef-curated selection of gourmet croquettes, mini bagels, finger sandwiches and freshly baked scones.

Available after morning shows and before afternoon shows. Open Wednesday to Friday from 1:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from noon.

Jack’s Mannequin

Jack’s Mannequin emerged in the mid-2000s as the passion project of Andrew McMahon, blending piano-driven rock with deeply personal storytelling. Their debut album, Everything in Transit, became an instant classic, featuring hits like Dark Blue and The Mixed Tape. The band’s emotionally rich sound and McMahon’s poignant lyrics earned them a dedicated following before they disbanded in 2012.

Now, Jack’s Mannequin is back, reuniting for a long-awaited return to the stage. Their timeless anthems and McMahon’s signature heartfelt performances continue to strike a chord with fans, making their comeback one of the most exciting in alternative rock.

Award-winning film composer Hans Zimmer returns to Melbourne for the first time since 2019, bringing his smash-hit tour Hans Zimmer Live to Rod Laver Arena this April.

A groundbreaking audio and visual show, Zimmer’s upcoming tour marks the Down Under return of the legendary composer, who rocked Coachella in 2017 and sold out over 20 shows across 17 cities across the US and Canada in 2024. With the support of his outstanding 19-piece live band and a full orchestra, Australian fans will be swept away from the sound of the first note and journey through a selection of the composer’s well-loved scores from some of cinema’s biggest films. Joining Zimmer onstage as part of the Hans Zimmer Live tour is acclaimed Australian singer Lisa Gerrard, who will perform a selection of the most popular songs she co-wrote with Zimmer, such as Mission: Impossible, King Arthur, Black Hawk Down, Tears of the Sun and Gladiator – which won her a Golden Globe and Oscar nomination. 

The newly arranged concert suites include music from Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, The Lion King, The Last Samurai and Dune, for which Zimmer received his second Academy Award®.

  • There are several options for your journey to Rod Laver Arena:
    • Public transport is the quickest and easiest option. Before you attend, plan ahead and allow extra travel time for any major disruptions.
    • Parking is available at the Eastern Plaza Car Park (Entrance D, Olympic Boulevard). We strongly recommend pre-booking as drive-up spaces are subject to availability. Bookings close at midnight the night before the event. 
      • Note: Accessible parking must be pre-booked via Ticketek. We strongly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. 
  • To ensure a smooth entry into the venue, download your tickets to your digital wallet before arriving.
  • Bags must be A4 size or smaller, and larger bags are not permitted.
  • Cloaking is available via the Information Desk (Gate 4) or Show Court 3. Any prohibited items listed in the venue Conditions of Entry will not be accepted for cloaking.
  • All retail outlets are cashless. Any transactions must be made using a credit or debit card.
  • If you have purchased a VIP package, the event promoter will be in contact with details regarding your experience.
